MOLD/ MICROBIAL GROWTH

If you're concerned about mold and would like a sample tested from a specific location in a home/building with visible microbial growth or suspected to contain mold, we offer swab/tape sample collection as a home/building inspection add-on or with a mold inspection. Samples are sent to an accredited lab for analysis, and you will receive a detailed lab report.

LAB REPORT / ANALYSIS DETAILS INCLUDE 

• the presence or absence of 19 spore types
• concentration/count per area of each genus (spore type) present in the sample
• growth information (if a sample/spore type contains fruiting structures and/or hyphae associated with the spores, which can indicate if a sample is showing active growth)
• if the spore types found include species that are known to be pathogenic, including some associated disease info, when known
• known associated allergen producing potential of each spore type found

COST

• One swab or tape sample is included with a MOLD INSPECTION 
• $100 to add one sample to a Standard Home Inspection if collected during the same trip as the inspection service
• $75 for each additional add-on sample after the first. 

TURNAROUND TIME

• typical lab report turnaround time of 4-5 days from the date of collection
